Maine Red Claws/Best Shot for Youth
Mercy has been named the exclusive health care provider of the Maine Red Claws basketball team, and has partnered with the team to create the Mercy/Red Claws Best Shot for Youth Initiative, a free-throw tournament program for area youth featuring the Red Claws staff and players.
The program raises funds for free sports physicals at Mercy’s Primary Care locations in Portland, Westbrook, Windham and Standish. Sports physicals are provided to York and Cumberland County students in grades 6-12 who do not have a primary care physician or who are currently Mercy Primary Care patients.

Portland Pirates
Mercy Hospital is pleased to partner with the Portland Pirates to support healthy activity across our community. As a 2012 sponsor of the Pirates, Mercy will co-sponsor the Post-Game Skates on the Ice, a fun way for youth to skate after the game with their favorite players and mascots!
Mercy is also the presenting sponsor of the “Night of Champions,” a program that recognizes talented student athletic teams who have excelled in their prospective sport. Recognition is given to both fall and spring teams, who are invited to a special game and recognized for their achievement.
