In 1996, Mercy Hospital developed the first Lymphedema Treatment Center in Northern New England. Today, Mercy’s Lymphedema Treatment Center remains dedicated to excellence in the treatment of lymphedema and related conditions.
Certified Therapists
Our multi-disciplinary team includes licensed occupational and physical therapists who are also credentialed to treat lymphedema. To become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), practitioners must successfully complete 135+ hours of lymphedema specific continuing education, including both a written and practical examination.
In addition to CLT certification, or full-time therapists have earned advanced credentials granted by the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA). This designation requires a minimum of one year of experience as a practicing CLT and successful completion of an intensive written examination.
